Grade Six

Grade six is finally coming to an end after a long year. Grade six is fun and all but I need summer! This week is the third last school week and I get to miss three days of school for a fishing trip I talked about in a later post, including today there are ten days of school left for me which is exciting. I can not wait for the end of the year and comment back if you agree!

Pittsburgh Penguins

Last night the pens won the Stanley Cup for the second time in two year which is pretty amazing for me since I am such a huge fan! The preds got a disallowed goal and then the pens scored once off the back of Pekka Rinne and then with seconds left the pens got an empty net goal and won the game 2-0. I wore my pens jersey to school today and I will probably be buying a Stanley Cup champions hat from the NHL store online! I can not wait until the next season starts in September.

Fishing Trip

This year is my first time going on the big fishing trip and I can’t wait! Every June my dad, grandpa, uncle, and aunts brother goes on a fishing trip to Morning Lake and this is my first time going with them! I am pretty sure we will leave on the 16th of June at 5:00 am and come back on Tuesday of the next week. For Christmas this year I was surprised with a new fishing rod and a life jacket and got told I get to go to the fishing trip with my family, and I was super happy. Two thirteen year old boys are coming on the trip with a different group at the same time so I will have some people to hangout with that are my age which is a good thing. Before the trip my dad and I will go shop for bait, hooks, and lots of food and snacks. If you are wondering I will be missing three days of school one on Friday and two on Monday and Tuesday. Thanks for listening!

Abeer

Today is my really good friend Abeer’s last day at school until next year. He is leaving to Pakistan on Sunday. I wanted to do something fun before he leaves but it is sort of to late now and I have no clue what we could do. I don’t really know what to say now other than it kind of stinks I won’t be able to hangout with him until September. Hopefully he is in my class next year as well so I can catch up with him easier. Thanks for reading!

Birthday Parties

Through May and June I have been invited to four different parties Evan’s, Ty’s, Reece’s, and Landen’s. I was only able to make three though because of my golf tournament if you want to hear more about that tournament check my post called “Golfing”, so at Evans we went to get air and had pizza at his house. At Ty’s I would have gone to his grandparents cabin and slept over night but like I said golf tourney and it seems like some of them got sick after so maybe it was a good thing I didn’t go. At Reece’s we ate burgers played basketball watched movies and slept over night. At Landen’s, well I’m not sure what we are going to do because it is in nine days, all I know is that we are going to his cabin. I have had lots of invites so far and I doubt there will be anymore.

Hockey

Tonight is my first 4 on 4 game since two weeks ago so I am pretty happy about that, but that is not what I want to talk about. I can’t wait for next years hockey season because I am going to be a second year on my team! That means the coach won’t sit me like he did in the 2016-2017 season. Hopefully I am good enough to be an assistant on the hockey club. My team last year didn’t do great because the leadership was poor, our captain didn’t pass much, and my defense coach sat me a lot which really brought down my confidence as a defensive player. So next year I do not want to have that experience and I most likely won’t because I will be better and older than most of the players.

Golfing

I golf all the time, whether its after schools or early morning weekends! I have a membership at The Wascana Country Club and Deer Valley golf Estates. I like Deer Valley more because the course is nicer and it is cheaper. The Wascana has a really good junior program though, it has a junior lounge with a ping pong table, a PS4, a Wii U, and a locker room. We also get to go play small mixers with great prizes the last times I’ve been there i got a fifty dollar pack of balls, a new hat, and a forty dollar Adidas shirt all just for showing up! At both clubs they have driving ranges with free balls that you are allowed to go hit whenever. I golfed with the assistant pro at Deer Valley once and he said that I was so good that he would put me on his pro junior team that goes to Swift Current for a big tournament! I will also be the youngest one on the team like I was at the last tournament I played in (my first tournament).

My Coach

This week my hockey team (the mustangs) got some bad news about our head coach. It turns out he got a good job offering where he used to live so he accepted and is going back to Toronto. He was no doubt one of my favorite coaches. When he gave us the news it was right after a game against the royals that we had won that was good but the next part was not so good, he said that he was happy to meet us and very happy to get to know us, it got quite emotional when this was happening even our captain was getting some tears in and even our coach said he didn’t cry at his own wedding but is when he was saying goodbye to us. I hope he has a good life in Toronto and won’t forget us.

My Hockey Season This Year

So far this new year of 2017 isn’t going as great as we had hoped because we haven’t been playing our best when we play. I can’t remember how many games we’ve played yet and I don’t thinks its very many. The game I do remember was against the tigers and that was the last game we played, we didn’t try our bests and I think we got a bit to many penalties that game as well but to be fair the referees were not very good that game for both teams. At first the game started fair with penalties and goals but then things got out of hand because the referee was getting yelled at by our coaches for a bad call then he gave us another penalty for that so that got us mad but it did not make us try much harder. The game had ended with some heads down for us and heads up for the tigers. We just need to remember to try our hardest even if the referees are bad. Hopefully we will try our best and take home a win the next time we play any team.
